Parenting Styles
The leadership styles we are going to study have two components:
- AFFECTIVE: emotional support.
- EXECUTIVE: task control.
By combining this concepts, we conclude in the result of the four parenting styles that will be explained right now:
- An authoritarian teacher or person will want their students to be obedient and proficient, but normally end up lacking happiness, social competences and self-esteem. For example: Teacher Snape on Harry Potter's Films
- An authoritative parent would have happy, capable and successful children. We can see this type of parenting style in Harry Potter with the character of Ginny Weasley.
- A permissive teacher would normally have a bad self-regulation, problems with authority, and their students would perform poorly in school, and have low levels of happiness. For example, the father Veruca (Charlie y la Fábrica de Chocolate)
I want to conclude my review, by asking my classmates:
WHAT TYPE OF TEACHER YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE?
