Intervention Models - What is the meaning of being a humanist?

Today we started UNIT 3, which is about Intervention. Teachers are humanists due to the fact that this profession exist thanks to the desire of  learnig of people. They are considered humanists due to the fact that they care about the person and their problems and not only their academic results. 

Firstly, it is neccesary to distinguish between two concepts, sympathy and empathy. The first one that a person feels the same way that another person do because they are in the same situation. In contrast, the other concept means that he/she understand you but that person it is not in the same situation.

To explain this concept we may use some metaphors ....
