Guiding Program Presentations

Imagen
After completing the test proposed by a Master student about educational aspects, the presentations started.       The order of presentation was chosen by the interest of the topic selected by the group. In our case (TeamSant Group), we were the first ones and the topic of the Guiding Program was "Immigrant students’s reception".      We choose this topic because it is unfortunately in current due to the war between Ukraine and Russia. This is the leaflet we used to help us in the presentation:      I really enjoyed doing this program, because I am a quite interested person in this topic. Also, we as a group, advocate human rights.       The teacher was evaluating us with a rubric, and our mates also evaluate us:      At the following class, a second group explained their guiding program about "Emotional education"

Imagen
As mentioned in the title, during this class we had satrted the new unit, Unit 4.  Firstly, we have talked about the activity A2, the one that compared professors Snape and Lupin, to introduce the topic “which quality should a good teacher have?” . Afterwards, we have done a Kahoot in relation with the topic where we need to associate the personal qualities with the image. Those personal qualities are: ·Emotional Balance: ·Respect: ·Critical attitude: ·Empathy: The most important point in this explanation was that:  "A good tutor must be respectful and don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."

Target groups - Unit 3.4

Today the teacher has explained the target groups, according to the Spanish Legislation. A target group are the addreesses in the Intervention Areas. We can distinguish three target groups upon we need to work with: - Students: - Other professional agents: - Parents: We need to be aware that we will have to work with several families, so we need to accept this diversity. The main thing we will have to do with families is to INFORM them about everything related with their kid and COLLABORATE (work as a team) In order to retain this and understand it in a proper way, we did an activity where we had to guess which group we had to work with depending on the situation given.

Areas of Intervention

Today´s class is about... AREAS OF INTERVENTION.   When talking about areas of intervention it is important to clarify that, depending on the addresses to whom the intervention is directed, we have different areas of intervention. For this reason, we are going to focus in the areas of intervention and in the target group. Also, the teacher explained us one of the activities we will be developing in groups the following days. We have to do a Guiding program choosing a topic to work with it.       When it comes to the areas we say... ABOUT WHAT ?  The first thing we ask ourselves when talking about areas of intervention is how to establish them.  a) Experts proposal : during the class explanation, the teacher talked about different experts such as Bisquerra. But he exposed her own point of view, in which she explains that the aim of working in these areas is to enhance integral development. b) Observe current  legislation : Accor...

Models of intervention

Intervention Models - What is the meaning of being a humanist?

Imagen
"I am I and my circumstances" by Ortega y Gasset.  Today we started UNIT 3, which is about Intervention. Teachers are humanists due to the fact that this profession exist thanks to the desire of  learnig of people. They are considered humanists due to the fact that they care about the person and their problems and not only their academic results.  Firstly, it is neccesary to distinguish between two concepts, sympathy and empathy. The first one that a person feels the same way that another person do because they are in the same situation. In contrast, the other concept means that he/she understand you but that person it is not in the same situation. To explain this concept we may use some metaphors ....  - Playing cards metaphor ___________________________________________________________________________________ - Steps to pay attention within the EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE INTERVENTION:

WAX ON, WAX OFF - Guiding process and its phases

Imagen
During this class we have mentioned the film "The Karate Kid" in order to get into detail with the phases that we had explained previously with the example of "Good Will Hunting".  The first phase which is the Preliminary phase has the aim of establishing a good rapport. In the case of "Good Will Hunting", when it comes to establishing a good rapport, the therapist was trying to find out common interest, he was also trying to use similar vocabulary with him. The second phase which is the Diagnostic phase has the aim of identifying what is the problem. Afterwards we go to the Guidance phase... which is how the therapist plans to solve the problem. The aim of this phase is to design an intervention plan to work with the independent variable and to change the effects that has on the dependent variable. With the example of "Karate Kid" we see that Mr. Miyagi said he was going to do his part and the kid had to do his . The kid was very confused why...

The Good Will Hunting - Reflection with phases of the Educational Guidance

Imagen
In today's class we reflect about "The good Will Hunting" movie. This movie follows Will Hunting, an unrecognized genius who becomes a patient of a therapist and studies advanced mathematics. Through his therapy sessions. There is a relation between Will and Sean as an example of the phases of the guiding process. This process starts with both of them not having this tutor-student relationship; at the end of the movie we can see how this changes and Sean becomes a role model and a trustable tutor for Will.    In the first phase, it is necessary to have an empathic attitude for a better understanding of the behavior with the aim of achieving the confidence of the student. Then, in the second phase we will identify the causes of the problem and obtain a diagnostic conclusion. Lastly, we must design, implement and evaluate a plan to guide them. PERSONAL OPINION : I really appreciate the tip that the teacher gave us during the class. As we realise that EMPATHY is the key fa...
